Canada’s Flow Beverage Corp has launched a range of mineral spring waters in aluminium bottles.
Flow Sparkling Mineral Spring Water will be available in 300ml aluminium bottles, developed in partnership with Kingston Aluminum Technology Inc (KAT). The line comprises four flavours: OG, Blackberry & Hibiscus, Lemon & Ginger, and Cucumber & Mint.
With its canmaking plant in Kingston, Ontario, privately-owned family-run KAT offers a broad range of aluminium bottles in a variety of shapes, and finishes in sizes from 200ml and 330ml. It is managed by Betty Pilon, who was until 2018 president of Montebello Packaging for 38 years.
Flow said the packaging not only preserves the taste of its products, “it enhances the premium drinking experience”.
Nicholas Reichenbach, founder and chief executive of Flow, said: “Our new aluminium bottles not only deliver a high-end design experience but also support our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility as the highest-scoring B Corporation in the water industry, as they are made from 70% recycled aluminium, use 30% less aluminium than competing formats and require 60% less energy to produce than traditional cans and bottles, thus reducing carbon emissions.
“This ties into Flow’s overall commitment to operating carbon neutral and reducing emissions across our supply chain.”
The new product line will debut in Canada in October, followed by a rollout in the US.
The introduction of Flow Sparkling Mineral Spring Water marks a significant milestone for Flow’s co-packing business as well. The company said it will be installing a new production line capable of packing its own aluminium bottles and co-packing for other brands, underscoring Flow’s growth and innovation within the beverage industry.
